ABBATI Prisco J. Abbati "Teddy," entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2011 at Masonicare of Walling-ford after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. Born May 21, 1936 to the late Anthony and Rose (Pellegrino) Abbati. Teddy was born and raised in Bridgeport. He served in the United States Army as a special cook to the sargeants and generals of his unit. After being honorably discharged, he went on to make his living as a baker. He lived many years in Newark, N.J. working at Tip Top Bakery and finally coming back to Bridgeport and retiring from Country Home Bakery. His potato pancakes, pizzas and many baked goods will be truly missed. He was predeceased in death by his brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Vincent and sisters Julia, Theresa and Mary. Left behind to cherish his memory and love are his sister, Irene; nieces, Patty, Debbie and Paula; nephew, Patsy Abbati; great-nieces, Stephanie and Nichole Diane Abbati; great-nephew, Ricardo Camacho; sister-in-law, Catherine Abbati; special nephew, Frederick Baker; special niece, Kathy Bodnar; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends and family may greet Prisco's family on March 12, 2011, Saturday, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and immediately following there will be a 10:30 am service in the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher and Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford.
