1917 - 2012
Resident of Woodside
On Monday, October 22, 2012, God called Quinton Robert Robertson to join his wife, Louise-who passed away last month. He died peacefully with his children at his bedside. Known to everyone as Bob, he was born on November 24, 1917. He was raised in Los Gatos where he attended Los Gatos High and excelled in the high jump on the track team. He was always proud that he remembered all the homes he delivered newspapers to in Los Gatos. In 1937, while opening and working at the first Walgreen's Agency in San Francisco, Bob met the love of his life, the very popular Louise Pariani. On July 7, 1940, they were married. Together they shared 72 beautiful and great years, building a wonderful life for themselves and their family. Bob attended University of California in Berkeley and San Francisco. From there he entered the College of Physicians and Surgeons (PS) where he met his classmate and good friend, Art Dugoni. In 1948, he graduated (Magnum Cum Laude) from PS where he received his degree as Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Bob then opened a dental practice in the Marina district in San Francisco. For those who could not see a dentist during the day, he made arrangements for people to see him at his Dolores Street residence-office in the evening. Later he moved his family practice to San Mateo where many of his patients followed him. In the 1950's, he served in the Army Dental Corps at Fort Ord while maintaining his dental practice. Bob moved his family to Portola Valley in 1958. He contracted and helped build the residence from the ground up. He excelled in everything he did. He was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the San Mateo Dental Society. He enjoyed all family activities that brought us all together. That included going to Pine Crest, Clearlake and anything that involved boating, fishing and horseback riding. He was a fan of the Cal Bears, Fory-Niners and SF Giants. When the kids left the nest, Bob and Louise moved to Woodside. He retired in 1975. In 1981, Bob and Louise traveled through Europe before reuniting with her relatives in Italy. He loved animals, especially his cat, Whitie. Through the years, he was always there for his family. Bob is survived by his three devoted children: Ronald (Lilie), Carolyn Frohlich (Gary), Donald (Pam); two grandchildren: Daniel Frohlich (Jen), Nikki Bryant (Collin); two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Hayden Bryant; his sister Billie Lou. Bob was preceded in death by: his wife and best friend, Louise; his mother, Neil Robertson; his brother Loyal Robertson. The family is grateful for the care provided by their caregivers; Sela and Alma. We love you Dad. Thank for the good life you gave us. You are now in heaven with Mom. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, October 29, from 5pm to 8pm with a vigil at 5:30pm. Funeral Services will be held on October 30, 2012 at 11am at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City. Graveside to follow at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, Ca.
