Ramon Ballesteros

August 29, 1927 - October 30, 2012
Ray Ballesteros, 85, of Port Orchard passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Oct 30 from pneumonia. Ray was a World War II veteran, Post Commander and a member of the American Legion, Post 59 for over 59 years. He is a lifetime member of the Bremerton Elks Club and a member of the Port Orchard Eagles Club. Ray, originally from Tuscon, Ariz., married Alicia Aguilar in 1947. In 1969, he moved his family to Bremerton to work as a machinist at PSNS at shop 31 and retired after 24 yrs in 1993.

Ramon had a great sense of humor. Playing the maracas and dancing with his wife were some of his greatest joys. Church and family were a big part of Ray's life. He was blessed with five children, 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Ramon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice Ballesteros; their children: Ray (Suzy) Ballesteros of Show Low, Ariz., Rick (Phyllis) Ballesteros and Ronnie (Paula) Ballesteros of Bremerton, Danny(Beverly) Ballesteros of Olympia, and Patti(Orlando) Ballesteros of San Francisco, Calif.; and extended family, Rose (Kent) Burton of Port Orchard. He also leaves behind his two brothers and four sisters, all of San Diego, Calif. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two granddaughters (Helisha and Tabbie) and two great-grandsons (Paul Jr and Caleb).

Viewing will be held at Miller Woodlawn in Bremerton on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton, where Ramon served as a Eucharistic Minister for over 20 years. Burial ceremony will follow at Miller Woodlawn in Bremerton.
