Raul Penaloza, age 65, passed away on May 23, 2013. He was born on July 29, 1947, in Loiza, Puerto Rico. Raul left his beloved island in 1971 to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. Following his honorable discharge, he relocated to San Antonio to work at Kelly Air Force Base and later, Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia. After 30 years in government service, Raul retired in 2004 where he maintained an active life until his death.
His love for family, music and an outgoing personality that endeared him to so many friends is how Raul Penaloza will best be remembered.
Raul is survived by his wife, Migdalia and son, Armando Saliba of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Rosalys and son Javier of Puerto Rico; numerous brothers and sisters.
He is preceded in death by his son Raul Alexis Penaloza.
The Visitation will be 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
