Jerome Bounds, 46, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Hawley, Texas.

A celebration of life gathering will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Lytle Land and Cattle Company Banquet Room, corner of East South 11th and Judge Ely Boulevard, Abilene. Arrangements were made by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene.

Jerome was born September 19, 1964 to Bertha (Kainer) and Eugene Bounds in Stamford, Texas. He graduated from Stamford High School. Jerome was a member of the Sheriff's Posse in Stamford. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. Jerome served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed by Ryan Energy Petroleum as a Directional Driller, having previously worked for the Child Protective Services in the Abilene and Haskell areas. Jerome was a calf roper; liked to ride horses; was an avid sportsman and hunter; loved to read books; and enjoyed coaching his sons in their sporting activities.

Survivors include his parents, Eugene and Bertha Bounds; his wife, Michelle Bounds; two sons, Justin Jerome Bounds and wife, Aleesha, and Brendon Whitley Bounds; a brother, Tony Freeman and wife, Billie Joe; two sisters, Judy Clifford and husband, Kevin, and Cherry Willhoite and husband, Tommy; a granddaughter, Addison Bounds; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Whitley; a sister-in-law, DeeDee Foster; nieces and nephews, Jason Wilson, Cole Wilson, Joshua Freeman, Amanda Mosley, Jason Foster, Robin Foster, and Josh Lindsey; and his English Mastiff, Rufus (his companion).

Memorials may be sent to the donor's favorite charity in memory of Jerome Bounds.
