Rebekah I. Lines, 90 of DuBois, passed away Saturday April 6, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of 51 years to the late George R. Lines whom she married on January 19, 1944.
Born June 18, 1922 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Lillie A. (Zimmerman) Christian.
Mrs. Lines was a graduate of Sandy High School class of 1940. She attended Indiana University of PA, Penn State University and Clarion University. She was employed as an Aide for DuBois High School, JoAnn Fabrics in DuBois and a former manager of the DuBois Senior Citizens Center. Her memberships included the Eastern Star of DuBois Chapter #59, a life member of the DuBois Grange, past Mother Advisor of Rainbow Chapter 98 of DuBois and taught knitting classes and exercise classes at the Senior Citizens Center.
Surviving are two daughters: Sara Jane (Sally) Adler and her husband Dr. Richard, Ypsilanti, MI; Sandra Lines, DuBois; Six Grandchildren: Jeannine Roderigas and her husband Dustin, Geronimo, OK; Melody Luchuck, Pittsburgh; Rebekah Gamble and her husband Justin, Ypsilanti, MI; Steven Adler and wife Jessica Lazarus, Windsor, Ontario, Canada; Ruth Jacob and husband Daniel, Beachwood, OH and Rose Adler, Ypsilanti, MI; three great grandchildren: Jack Henry and Claire Ann Roderigas and Aaron Jacob; one brother and one sister: John A. Christian, NC; Bernice Smith, Altoona, PA
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, one daughter: Carol Ann Lee, one granddaughter: Rachel Adler; three brothers: Dr. James A. Christian, Lynn D. Christian and Dr. Ross C. Christian; also one infant brother and one infant sister.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rebekah I. Lines will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801 with Rev. Leo Cramer officiating. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
