Rex Danforth "Dan" Moss, born January 1, 1928 in Birmingham, AL, and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances Nicholson Moss and daughters, Bonnie (Bobby) Norton and Ellen (Louis) Wood. Four granddaughters, Louise Sparks (Michael) Ritter, Lauren Sparks (James) Osborne, Claire Wood and Katie Wood, and three great grandchildren.
He attended Birmingham-Southern College, the University of South Alabama and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned his Ph.D. degree. Mr. Moss retired from the State of Alabama. Founded and Life Member of the Railroadiana Collectors Association and founded the Alabama Gulf Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. A Life Member of the Train Collectors Association. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church for many years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 439 Azalea Rd., Mobile, AL, 36609. Family graveside services will be held in Birmingham, AL at a later date.
