Richard (Dick) Lee Barrett passed away on May 3, 2013, surrounded by all of his children at Ebeid Hospice Center. Dick lived a very full life and was loved by all who met him. He served in the Navy and received several honors including the Purple Heart, the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Dick worked at Toledo Metal Spinning for 36 years. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth German on September 7, 1946 and was married for over 57 years. Dick enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri and spending time with his family. He never missed a card game and loved to play Euchre, Pinochle and Skip Bo. In his later years, Dick enjoyed seeing his grandson, Evie play the drums and became a favorite patron at the all of the establishments that Evie played. Many family members preceded Dick in death, including his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Barrett, siblings Leroy, Ken, Eugene, Patsy and June. Surviving is his sister, Roberta. Your family will miss your smile, your laugh, your humor and your ornery grin. This is dedicated to the memory of the sweetest man this family has ever known. We tip our hats and hearts to you. Your smile will live within us and your wonderful spirit will never be forgotten. You touched everyone who ever met you. Bless you dad and grandpa. We love you. Lana, Ev, Evie, Kristie, Dave, Kacie, Maya, Connie, Jerry, Justin, Rita, Jaxen, Alex, Rick, Marsha, Brian and Marissa.

Dear Lana, Ev & Family:
Betty just learned of Richard's being called to his eternal rest on Friday. Our prayers are with you and your family. In the Gospel of John 14:1 Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you." In the Gospel we shared in church today Jesus said, "I have said these things to you that in me your may have peace." John 16:33. May you all know that peace in the Risen Lord, even in this time of loss. I still remember Dick, even though it has been 21 years since I was there.
