Richard Bookhart, 84, of Syracuse passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a US Army Veteran who served in action in the Korean War. Richard retired from Union Carbide. He loved fishing with his friends and family.
Richard is survived by his beloved companion of 36 years, Helen Winchell; specially beloved daughter, January (Quientin along with their sons, Quientin, Jr., Deon, Mekhi and daughter, Janisa) Johnson; step-daughter, Linda (Ivan and their son, Almando) Martinez; step-son, Michael (Cindy and their sons, Rudy and Jessie) Winchell; sisters, Lilly Bell and Mary Reeves; brother, Luther (Ruth) Bookhart; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special friend, Patricia Campbell.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 423 Valley Drive, Syracuse.
