Richard W. Muellner, 72, of Stone Lake passed away at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2013.
Richard was born on August 10, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Lillian (Leschinske) Muellner. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Chicago, and then went into the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He began working as a type setter and worked at various businesses until his retirement in 2004. He married April Carlson on June 26, 1971. She passed away on November 28, 2005. They resided in Wauconda, IL. Richard moved to Stone Lake in 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Transfiguration Church, Wauconda, St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission, and Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Victory Heights. He was an avid horseback rider and gardener. He also enjoyed ceramics and the company of his Chihuahuas, Simon and Rico.
Richard is survived by four children, Michele (Jeff) Kniep of East Troy, WI, Kimberley (Brandon) Hubanks of Sharon, WI, Todd (Cassie) Muellner of Crystal Lake, IL, and Bryan Muellner of Tulsa, OK; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Jaylan, Mari, Ethan, Alek, Brody, and Teagan. He was preceded by his parents; wife, April; grandson, Tommy; and brother, Robert Muellner.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
