Obituary of Richard Norman
Richard Norman, 80, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fred & Janet Norman on September 21, 1933. He received his BFA at Lawrence University followed by his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Illinois and Masters of Architecture at the University of Michigan. From 1976 until his retirement, he was a Professor of Architecture at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.
His love for art and architecture led him to many travels with his wife of almost 50 years, Mary Olson Norman. Together they traveled the world. Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Elizabeth Norman and son, Carl "Buster" Norman both, of New York City.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home 352 East 87th Street, New York, New York from 5 until 7 pm.
A private burial will occur at a future date.
