Richard E. Postier passed away peacefully on June 7, 2019. Born August 20, 1932 in Cleveland Ohio, Richard was one of three children growing up in Parma Ohio before later residing in metro Atlanta Georgia. He is survived by his wife Myung and her two sons; Steven Yi and his daughter Alison Yi and Tommy Yi, his wife Maria and their daughter Ariella Yi and son Corban Yi. He is also survived by his son David Scott Postier, his wife Shannon and their daughters Kathryn Elizabeth Conger and husband Benjamin, Jessica Lynn Mihic and husband Aleksandar, and Heather Renee Postier. Their grandchildren include Chloe Grace Conger, Adrajanna Lynn Mihic and Aleksandar Christian Mihic. He is also survived by his daughter Debra Lynn Andrews and her children; Kaylyn Michelle Andrews, Kenneth Robert Andrews and Steven Alan Andrews and daughter Diana Lee Meadows, her husband Chris their sons Sean Allen Meadows, his wife Taylor and Connor Wayne Meadows. He is also survived by his sister Sandra Pasela.
He is preceded by his first wife Eleanor Postier, parents Elmer and Anna Postier and his sister Sharon Hahn.
Richard served honorably in the United States Navy after graduating from Parma High School in Cleveland Ohio.
Richard began his career as one of the youngest engineers hired by the Ford Motor Company. He then moved to Doraville Georgia and started the Voltex Battery company in the basement of his house. He spent most of his career in the manufacturing and lighting industry. In his later years he dabbled in Real Estate and Rental Properties.
Richard had a love for old Chris Craft boats and spent many summer days cruising the hidden coves of Lake Lanier with his friends and family. He was an enthusiast of many things including chess, music, vintage automobiles and was especially fond of model airplanes and trains of which he passed this love down to his son and grandsons. He was a self-taught pianist and played the accordion in a polka band for many years as a young man. He also had a love for exotic plants and trees including orchids and pink dogwood trees.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that contributions be made in Richard's name to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, 1365 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30322.
