Richard D. Simpson, age 85, of Knoxville, passed away at his home on February 3, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents, Green and Margie Simpson; brothers, Eugene and Dudley and sister, Betty Ogle. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Christine Brackett Simpson; sons, Richard H and wife Christine Willey Simpson, David, and Kevin; grandchildren: Sarah, Andrew, Brian, Blake and Brooke, and great-grandchildren: Morgan, Grayson, and Braxton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 6 to 8pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair. Family and friends will meet at 1pm, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel for the funeral service, Dr. Rocky Ramsey officiating. The burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
