Rick Lee Allgood passed away April 1, 2011. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. 1st St., with a Funeral service at 7:00 p.m.
Ricky was born February 4, 1959 in Oskaloosa. He grew up, and went to school in Ankeny, Iowa moved to California in 1982, and moved back to Iowa with family in 1989. He was employed as a Mechanic with Backer Electric for 20 years. He lived in Elkhart, then moved to Colfax in 1997 where he lived on a small acreage. He enjoyed helping neighbors with their farm work and repairs. He loved fishing and trapping turtles. Even at a young age there wasn't anything he couldn't take apart and fix.
Survivors include his daughter, Amber Lanczos; step-daughter, Tiffany Painter; mother, Marilyn Jacoway; sister, Sandra Allgood; brothers, Fred (Becky) and Mike (Randi) Allgood; nephews, Tom Allgood, and Shane Conlin; nieces, Samantha Allgood, and Amy Conlin; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Dean Allgood, and step-father, Gary Jacoway.
His ornery smile and big heart will be greatly missed.
