Rick A. Burkholder, 58, of Lima, died at 4:07 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2013, at his residence. He was born February 22, 1955, in Lima to Robert and Martha (Brewer) Burkholder. His father survives in Englewood, FL and his mother survives in Lima. On May 26, 1989, he married Lynn M. McCoy who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Tracy (Joel) Long, Brittany Burkholder, Tom (Mindi) Coulter and Dave (Emily) Coulter all of Lima and fourteen grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother, Shelby Burkholder and Eric (Tammy) Burkholder both of Lima and Cyndy Webb of Nineveh, IN., also survive him.
Mr. Burkholder was a self-employed contractor. He was a 1973 graduate of Shawnee High School. He received his Associate's degree from The Ohio State University and was working on his Bachelor's degree. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1533, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3615, both of Indian Lake.
He loved to fish and camp. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. His most cherished thing in life was sharing Kit Kat candy bars with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
