Robert Earl Brander, known to his family and friends as Bob, was born in Flint, Michigan on August 4, 1925 to Bruce and Lenora and passed away on October 11, 2010 at home in Downey at the age of 85.
Bob was a kind and loving man who was a friend to all. He always enjoyed building and fixing things. Bob remodeled his house, rebuilt car engines, built recumbent bicycles, boats, and loved to share all of these with friends and family. He was an adventurer at heart. He liked to travel, ride motorcycles and dune buggies, and to sail. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest with his family.
Bob was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jo Ann. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Dan Staples, "adopted daughter", Mary Rose, grandchildren, Carrie, Cyndi and Tim and many loving family members, friends, and neighbors, who will miss his smile and laughter.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
