Robert "Russell" MacLean, 59 of Inverness, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness, on November 12,1952 he was the son of the late John "Jack Lewis" and Mary (Mac Issac) MacLean, North Lake Ainslie. Russell spent his leisure time doing the things he enjoyed; fishing and four wheeling. He worked for Michelin Tire, Granton, General Motors, Oshawa; Ont; McDonnell- Douglas, Mississauga, Ont and for the Nova Scotia Dept. of Transportation, Strathlorne. He was also owner/ operator of Strathlorne Construction, Inverness for the past 23 years. He is survived by his wife Karen (Leadbeater) MacLean; brother, Donnie (Marie) Kenloch; sisters, Jennie MacLean , Scotsville; Isabelle (Russ) Burton, Ont; brother-in-law, Shane Leadbeater, Bible Hill; sister-in-law, Ella (Forbes) LeDrew, Westville; mother and father-in-law Stewart and Aldona Leadbeater, Westville; nieces and nephews Bridget, Nelson, Dawn Marie MacLean; Aaron and Tara Leadbeater, Adam LeDrew, Cindy, Leo, and Richard Burton. Also suviving are aunts and uncles, Jessie (Bernie) Cameron, Mabou; Leona (John) Shaw, West Lake Ainslie; John "Bibby" (Mary) Kennedy, Allinston, Ont. and by several cousins. Besides his parents Russell was predeceased by his infant sister Florence and sister-in-law Linda Leadbeater.
Visitation for Russell will be held Sunday, October 14, from 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Inverness Funeral Home. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday at 2 pm from St. John's United Church with Rev. Maggie Plant officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Strathlorne. Family flowers only please.
