Robert G. Allison, 88, of Milford passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence.
He was born June 16, 1924 in Mt. Vernon the son of David and Elizabeth (Wilcox) Allison. He married Joan Higgins on April 14, 1951, and she predeceased him on September 18, 2007.
Bob served his country in the US Army from 1943 to 1946.
Bob was a real estate appraiser for many years, and was associated with several banks in the down state area.
Bob was a member of the Oneonta American Legion Post 259.
He is survived by two sons, John Allison and his wife Patty of Huntington Station, and Matthew Allison of Milford; six grandchildren, Joseph, Erin and her husband, Bob, Katie and her husband Reed, Sean, Kevin, and Christopher; his great grandchild, Allison Mae, and his daughter-in-law, Joanne Allison of Hartwick.
He was predeceased by his son Robert in 2008.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta with the Rev. Bruce Helstrom, a Catskill Area Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at which time the family will be in attendance.
