Bob Douglas, beloved husband, father and PaPa joined our Lord in heaven at age 87 on November 30th after fighting a valiant battle with leukemia.
Bob proudly served his country during WWII and retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service.
Soon after his retirement from the Navy he began his second career as a FAA air traffic controller at Red Bird Airport. Twenty years later he traded his radar screen for his golf clubs when he retired in 1983. Bob was a man of great integrity and was passionate about his faith in God, his love of family and Texas Rangers baseball. He was never far from his constant companion little Ms. Jenny. Bob was married to the love of his life, Marge for sixty-six years.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; his daughter Gail and husband Jack Tredemeyer; his son Michael and wife Regina Douglas; his grandsons Chris and wife Kim Tredemeyer, Jeff and wife Lily Tredemeyer, Eric and wife Kristin Tredemeyer, Rob and wife Jennifer Douglas. He also loved his great grandchildren, Emily, Kendall, Austin, Emma, Kaitlin and Carson. He has left a void that will be impossible to fill.
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bean Massey Burge, Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie Texas.
Private gravesite services will be at DFW National Cemetery at a later date.
