Robert W. Emmons, 84 of Huntington, passed away Monday morning November 19, 2012 at Parkview
Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne. Robert worked at Fisher Body in Marion for 30 years. He was a member of theUnion Church and enjoyed ministering to the residence at the Heritage of Huntington. Robert served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy for two tours. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and wood crafting.
Robert was born on March 13, 1928 in Kosciusko County Indiana. A son of DeVon and Gladys (Dick) Emmons. He was united in marriage to Edna Grossman on June 22, 1987 in Huntington, IN. His wife survives.
Additional Survivors include – one daughter: Jody Montgomery of Andrews, IN; One Stepdaughter Marilyn (Dennis) Sonner of Columbia City, IN; a Son: Dave (Janie) Emmons of Cove City, NC; Nine Grandchildren: Michel, Michele, Marisa, Megan, Chantel, Selene, Kelly, Caleb, and Cora; Two Step Grandchildren: Stacie, and Andrea; and 14 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a Stepson: Paul Grossman; a Brother: Devon "Buck" Emmons; Three Sisters: Ignota Smith, Mardge Hubbard, and Marcella Merica.
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Mt. Etna Cemetery.
