Robert "Popcorn" Jankulov, age 64, passed away March 29. Beloved son of the late Matt and Mary; loving brother of the late Richard "Jank"; good lifetime friend of the McElroy family-Bob, Bill, Nancy, Cindy and the late Jimmy. Memorial Services Thursday 11 AM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Ave. where friends will be received one hour prior to service. A popular and unique individual, Popcorn was a familiar sight for over 30 years in Cleveland's West Park area. An avid bike rider, Robert was often seen riding his bike throughout the far west side neighborhoods. A 1969 graduate of John Marshall High School, Robert was so well known for his bike riding, that the school newspaper featured him in an article entitled "Bike traveling senior peddles many a mile." A Cleveland policeman was quoted as saying "We see that kid on his bike everywhere." After graduation, Robert went to work for the City of Cleveland Water Treatment Department until 1992 when he took an early retirement due to many health issues. Even in retirement, Robert continued riding his colorful bike and later switched to a four wheel motorized cart. He would regularly travel up and down Lorain Avenue near W. 140th Street. In 2002, Robert moved to the Patrician Skilled Nursing Center which is now the Diplomat, located in North Royalton. The Diplomat remained his home where he quickly became friends with the nurses, attendants and staff. Popcorn leaves behind many friends who remember him from his early days in West Park. Whenever he was asked what his plans were for the future. His response was always the same "Keep Going!"
