Robert F. Kienast, 82, of Walcott, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 9:30 – 10:30 AM Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial with military rites provided by the Walcott American Legion will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Kienast was born October 8, 1930 in Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Marie (Miller) Kienast. He was a United States Air Force veteran.
On May 23, 1992, he married Della Shaffer in Wapello, Iowa. He was employed for 45 years by Central Petroleum of Walcott. Prior to that he was employed by the Highway Patrol and Sheriff's Department in East Dubuque. His hobbies included deer hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Della; daughters, Debbie and Kim, and Christine Shaffer; step daughters, Charlotte Jinkerson and Lou-Ann Stecher; step sons, Roger Mathis and Richard Mathis; special friends, Curt Stang and Brian Mengler; sixteen step grandchildren; 28 step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son; a stepdaughter; two stepsons and a half sister, Hope Border.
