Robert "Bobby" Paige, Jr., 53, of Troy died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2014, at Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Keene following a period of declining health.
He was born in Keene on October 14, 1960, the son of Barbara and Robert J. Paige, Sr. He grew up in the area and graduated in 1978 from Keene High School where he was an accomplished baseball player.
Bobby worked in construction and painting. He enjoyed playing poker, golf and pool, and was an avid player in the Keene Men's Softball Association. He was a lifelong New England sports fan following the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics.
His father remembers him by saying "he was my son and my best friend."
Bobby is survived by his father Robert J. Paige, Sr. of Troy; his sister Robin Medina, and her husband Mike of Easton, MA; his aunts and uncles Donald and Opal Paige of Keene; Fred Paige of West Swanzey; Nancy Twitchell of Charlestown; Michael and Debbie Tetreault of Port Orange, Florida; Martin and Barbara Tetreault of Keene; Pat and Gerry Tetreault of Keene; Linda and Chris Young of Troy; and many cousins, who considered him to be like a brother. His mother Barbara Paige died in January, 2013.
In accordance with Bobby's wishes, an informal graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy. His uncle Donald Paige will officiate. [Please note that the cemetery plot is located on a hill, so you may wish to bring a chair.]
