SMITH, Robert L., 85, a Veteran of WWII and a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy G. Smith, and a son, Danny Ray Smith. He is survived by three sons, Ernie (Tonia) Smith, John Scooter Smith, Robert L. Smith, Jr.; two daughters, Bobbie (Sydney) Saunders, Rhonda (Tommy) Zaffina; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Toby Wilson, Mark Monfee, Kevin Burrous, Ike Majors, Tracy Griffis and Dewayne King. Honorary pallbearers will be David McDowell and his brothers of the Local Union 52 where he has been a member since 1955. The Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Ridout's Prattville Chapel on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 with Rev. Nick Edwards and Rev. Larry Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Baptist Hospice for the care that they provided.
