Surrounded by his family Rocco passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the age of 75. Rocco was a devoted husband and father and leaves behind his loving wife Marcella of 53yrs, his daughters Antonietta (Pietro), Silvia(Richard) and his son Mario(Maria). A loving grandfather of Alessio, Marcello, Rocco, Marco, Stefania, Alexander, MarcAnthony and Ariana. Survived by his sisters Maria Luigia, Valeria and brothers Carmine and Mario. After leaving Casino, Frosinone, Italy in 1966 to settle in Toronto, Rocco worked as a construction worker and labour for over 40 years and retired in 2000. He continued to work at the St. Lawrence Market helping his son Mario at his fruit and vegetable store, Ponesse Foods. Even with his illness Rocco continued to help his son as he loved the market so. Rocco's philosophy was to live to work and not work to live. Rocco was the Patriarch of the family and ensured he took care of his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends and relatives will be received at DELMORO FUNERAL HOME, 61 Beverly Hills Dr., (1 light south of Wilson Ave., west of Jane St. – 416-249-4499) on Saturday August 28, 2010 from 6-9 pm and on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2010 in ST. CHARLES BORROMEO ROMAN CATHOLC CHURCH (On Lawrence Avenue at Dufferin Street). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (On Langstaff Road at Bayview Avenue). Rocco would greatly appreciate your donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his honour.
