Rodney "Rod" D. Allen was born January 25, 1939 in Lemoore, California and passed away August 27, 2010 in Santa Barbara, California at the age of 71.
He served in active duty in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 and was honorably discharged from the United States Reserves in 1967.
In 1968 he joined the California Highway Patrol and retired December 20, 1996 after 28 years and 10 months. Since retirement he has worked part time for Veterinary Pharmaceuticals in Hanford.
He is survived by Glenda, his wife of 48 years; three sons, Roger (Addis) of Armona, Timothy (Judy) of Kerman and Michael (Rita) of Hanford; sixteen grandchildren and one brother, Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Jane Allen and his brother, Bryant Allen and his grandson, Justin Allen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 3 – 7 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St, Hanford, CA. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, CA.
