Ronald Lee Maddox, 65, of Lynchburg, passed away, Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of 43 years to his late loving wife, Brenda Bryant Maddox. Born May 3, 1948, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Foster Lee Maddox and the late Daisy Catherine Hall Maddox.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents and his son-in-law, Jerry Evans.
Ronald was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Ronald also proudly served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S Air Force from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam Era. Following his time in service, he worked at Consumers/Dornin-Adams as a master fabricator for over 40 years. He is known by many as Santa Claus, for his work with toy runs and others. He will best be remembered as a quiet but humble and friendly man with a love of the Air Force, guns, the flea market and NASCAR. He had an outstanding love for his family which includes his surviving family, daughter Becky Reynolds and husband Ray, daughter Ronda Evans and fiancée Dave Fleming; his brothers, Richard Maddox and wife Virginia, Wayne Maddox and wife Joy and David Maddox and wife Gail; and a special love for his sister, Darlene Maddox; five grandchildren, Anthony Evans, Aundrea Evans, Joshua Evans, Jeramy Reynolds and Russell Reynolds; and one great-granddaughter, Mykala Flowers. He will also be missed by the multitude of friends and acquaintances that greeted his path over his lifetime.
A memorial service will be conducted, 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Desarie Justice. Military honors will also be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence of Rebecca Reynolds.
