In Loving Memory of
January 30, 1922 - March 21, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Aunt on March 21, 2012 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Rose was born in Eastern Europe on January 30, 1922 and immigrated to Canada in 1927 with her mother, brother Stan and sister Sophie to join her father who immigrated a year earlier. She lived in Kenora her entire life. Upon graduating from business college, she accepted a job in the Mining Recorders office in 1939 and transferred a year later to the Crown Lands office. Upon amalgamation with the Department of Lands and Forests, she continued to work with Lands and Forests until 1945. In 1945 she married Bill Allin.
Together Bill and Rose travelled extensively to various parts of the world. In 1950 she returned to the work force and for the next nine years worked in various legal offices. In 1959 she accepted a job at the Sherriff's office where she worked in the court system until her retirement in January 1986. Upon retirement she continued to travel and spend time with her nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews all of whom loved her dearly. She also leaves behind many dear lifelong friends. She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada for 25 years where she served in various capacities.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1984, her father in 1954 and her mother in 1983. She was also predeceased by her beloved siblings: Sophie in 2000, Stan in 2001 and Casimir in 2006.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital who provided excellent and compassionate care.
