Rosemary Ann Baribeau, 81, of Duluth, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Rosemary was born on November 16, 1928 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Walter and Helen (Erickson) Klingman. The family moved to Duluth early on and Rosemary attended schools in the area and spent most summers on the family farm in Cumberland, WI. After graduating from Denfeld High School she moved to Minneapolis and worked for Northwestern Bell and General Mills. On December 28, 1957 she was united in marriage to Edward Cunningham. After Edwards death in 1960, Rosemary returned to Duluth. She was united in marriage to Keith Baribeau on February 1, 1964. Rosemary devoted the next several years to raising her family while working as a loan officer at the Duluth Teachers Credit Union. She later retired after 20 years of service.
Rosemary loved to read and spend time at the island at Burntside Lake. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren who were the light of her life. Both Rosemary and Keith were long standing members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Clarence Engwall; brother, John; stepbrother, Bill and her first husband Edward.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Keith; three daughters, Jean (John) Thoennes of Duluth; Rosemary (Mike) Umland of Plymouth, MN, Melinda Baribeau of Duluth and one son, John Baribeau of Duluth; grandchildren, Joe, Ian and Kate Thoenness, Sarah, Lisa, Alison and Emily Umland, Brittny and Brandon Baribeau; great-grandchild Jey Thoennes; stepbrother, Bob (Carley) Engwall of the Twin Cities as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home 925 East 4th St. and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 410 North Arlington Ave. Interment will be held in Bethany Cemetery.
