Rowena Blair, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 26, 2011.
Rowena was born in Seguin, Texas to Walter and Mary Hummel. She was joined in marriage to Wayne Blair in 1956 and remained a long-time resident of Seguin.
Rowena retired as an employee of H-E-B and was most recently employed with the Community Council Head Start Program and the Seguin Gazette Enterprise. She did volunteer work at GRMC and was an active member of the Country Church in Marion, Texas.
Rowena was a warm, loving and generous soul, who will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Blair; son, Walter "Tex" Blair; daughter, Sandra Mrazek and brother Leonard Hummel.
She is survived by her daughter Debby Blair Eckhart; sisters-in-law Connie Blair and Jean Honea; grandchildren Jill Nash and husband Nick, Ross Eckhart, Megan Blair, Heather Blair; great-grandchildren Madison, Logan, Andrew and Peyton.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 29 at Goetz Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Services will be held Monday, May 30 at 2 p.m. at the Country Church in Marion, Texas with interment to follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. Pall bearers include Ross Eckhart, Nicolas Nash, Stanley Hummel, Larry Kizer, Jarrett Blair and Rodney Mrazek. Honorary pall bearers are Jimmy Jimenez, and Jared Schoenvogel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Rowena's memory to the San Geronimo Cemetery Association or the Guadalupe County Humane Society.
