Mrs. Rowena Michael Lackey, age 95 of Winder, GA went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2012 after an extended illness. She was a born in Sim's Town in South Barrow County, the fifth of ten children, and a lifelong resident of Barrow Co. Mrs. Lackey was a member of Hebron Christian Church. She was preceded in death by parents Clifford and Rosa Sims Michael: husband Charlie M. Lackey, Sr. and a son Nick Lackey. Mrs. Lackey is survived by children: son Charlie M. (BJ)
Lackey, Jr of Norcross, son Rex Lackey of Statham: daughter Victoria L.(Myron) Garrett of Winder and daughter in law Charisse Lackey of Winder; Grandchildren Dean (Valerie) Garrett of Winder, Heath (Teri) Garrett of Newnan, Jarrod (Bari) Lackey of Marietta, Patrick (Lisa) Lackey of Buford and Zeb Lackey of Statham; Great Grandchildren Hannah Garrett, Courtney Garrett, Abram Garrett, Rebekah Garrett, Alex Garrett, Grace Garrett and Adrianna Lackey and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doyle Sims officiating.
