Lake Charles- Roy D. DeRise, 85, passed away on Monday March 29, 2010 in a local hospital.
He was born in Rayne, Louisiana and a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and a WWII Navy veteran.
Survivors include his son, Robert DeRise and wife, Linda of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Elizabeth Cortez and husband Edmond of Krammer, LA; one brother Whitney J. DeRise Jr. and wife, Lois of Lake Charles, LA; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Claire DeRise and mother, Noleiene Plaisance.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Deacon Jack Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will be from Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. til time of service.
