Ruby Mae Barber was born June 7, 1928 in Texas to Ruby and Alex Miller who preceded her in death. She was the fourth of four children. Ruby received her education in Lockhart, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age.
Her greatest joy was watching her kids play sports, but what Ruby best enjoyed was enjoying her wrestling from her favorite chair.
Ruby was called home on September 17, 2011. Her husband Tom Barber, daughter Doris Fagan, two sisters, Minnie Payne, Allie Davis and brother Pernice Miller preceded her in death.
She leaves to celebrate her life, sons; Donald (Nancy) Barber, Tom Jr (Cathy), Dwight Barber of Oxnard, Douglas Barber of Los Angeles, CA, daughters; Delorma Atkins of Detroit, MI, Tammy (Odis) Perry of El Rio, CA, Thera (Robert) Wright of Los Angeles CA, Sheila (Mark) Plumeri of Chatsworth, CA, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister-in-law Ester Miller of Martinez, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 3pm to 8pm. Memorial service will be Saturday September 24, 2011 at 11am at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad's & James Reardon, 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd, Oxnard CA 93033, (805) 487-4911, graveside will follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA.
