Russell Wesley Archer, age 88, passed away on November 28, 2010. He was born on May 28, 1922 in Pickton, TX to Melton and Ollie Archer. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Archer; sons, Dennis Archer and wife Sherryl, Tom Archer and wife Pam; daughter, Susie Archer; grandchildren, Angela and Bradley Archer; sisters, Margaret Futch of Plano, Lou O'Reilly and husband Victor of Dallas. Russell was a veteran of the Army Air Force and served in WWII. He retired in 1985 from Arco Oil and Gas after 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plano. He was a resident of Plano since 1967. Russell enjoyed traveling, hunting and being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 29, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Plano on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm. The Church is located at 1300 E. 15th Street Plano, Texas 75074. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
