Russell Glunt, 83, of Darien, GA passed and went with the Lord Dec 23, 2013. He lived a long and adventurous life. He served in the United States Air Force both stateside and abroad.
He was a native of Apollo and Vandergrift, PA having graduated from Apollo High School in 1947. He later moved to Georgia in 1994 from Pittsburgh, PA.
He loved Steelers Football and was passionate for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Glunt; his children, Russell Glunt, II of Maine and Mike Edwards of Virginia; four stepchildren, George Taylor and Bonnie Richards of PA and Bill and Brian Richards of Brunswick; his stepbrother, Robert Glunt of PA; sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Glunt and Lucetta Glunt Sipos; two sisters, Floy Walverton and Thelma Murin; stepsister Marjorie Sproul and stepson Mark Richards.
Funeral services will be conducted with Edo Miller and Sons with Memorial Services at First Presbyterian Church of Darien with Pastor Danny Grace on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 am.
Burial with military honors will be in the Georgia War Veterans Cemetery in Glennville, GA on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
