Russell "Nese" Williard, Jr., 90, residence of High Point, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Hospice Home at High Point.
He was born on March 1, 1922 in High Point, NC to Russell Williard, Sr. and Elizabeth Anne Duncan. He was a US Army Engineers Veteran, who served during World War II. During his service in the US Army, he received a Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars and a Victory Metal. He was self-employed and retired as a salesman selling redwood and granite golf course signs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Williard. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernadine "Dinie" Williard, his 3 children, Patricia "Patty" Anne Simmons and her husband, Ron of Hickory, NC, Bob Williard and his wife, Donna of Weddington, NC, Jerry Williard of New Smyra Beach, Florida, 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
Above all he was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. He lived to see his children grow personally and professionally and have families of their own. He had a will to live life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Chapel at Sechrest Funeral Home at 1301 East Lexington Avenue, High Point, NC on Saturday, December 1st at 11 am with Reverend Robert Williard officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10 am until time of the service.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the Hospice Home at High Point, and wish to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors , nurses, and entire staff for their committed care and concern for Mr. Williard during these last couple of weeks.
