Born December 28, 1938, went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2012. She attended Brewster Road Alliance Church in Pinson, AL. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gary Archer; 3 children: Jeff Archer (Debra), Lori Mackesy (Kevin), and Doug Archer (Tammy); 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Moody, Wesley Archer (Anna), Justin Archer (Jessica), Jordan Watts (Brian), and Jared Archer; 2 brothers: Jeff Bennett (Joan) of Huntsville, AL and Johnny Bennett (Vicki) of Cullman, AL; her sister-in-law, Becky Sensenbrenner (Lee) of Bainbridge, IN; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 21, 2012 beginning at 11:00 AM; officiated by Rev. Jeff Archer, with interment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
