Sami Salim Freij

Sami Salim Freij was born on January 10, 1944 in Ramallah, Palestine to the late Salim and Mudallalah Freij. He passed away on February 14, 2013 at the age of 69.

In 1971 Sami married Hasmeek Shanlikian. Together they raised their three sons. Sami worked for many years as a Tool and Die Maker with General Motors before retiring in 2005. He spent his retirement years with his family and friends.

Sami was the beloved husband of Hasmeek. Loving father of Gus (Rachell), Marwan (Shadin), and Aram. Cherished brother of Salwa (the late Mina) and Riad (Norma). Sami is preceded in death by his parents Salim and Mudallalah and siblings Saleh (Rose), Faraj (Nuha), and Laila (Ibrahim) Michael.

The Freij family will receive friends on Sunday February 17 from 6-8 pm with a Trisagion Service 7:30 pm at the Antiochian Orthodox Basilica of St. Mary, 18100 Merriman Rd. (east side of Merriman, north of Six Mile Rd.) in Livonia. He will lie in state on Monday February 18, 2013 from 9 am until the time of his Funeral Service, 10 am at the church. He will be laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.
