Sammi Carpenter is celebrating this Easter with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She started her journey on April 3, 2012 at 5:22 PM. She was a special child that left lifesize memories with everyone that knew her. As her life emerged, she was diagnosed to be mentally challenged, but as her personality revealed itself, and the love and compassion she had for everyone, we decided she was normal and the rest of us were mentally challenged.
Sammi was born on December 11, 1966 in Cabarrus County, and was a 1988 graduate of A. L. Brown High School. She was an active member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church and was a member of the Special Olympics. She worked at Rowan Vocational Opportunites in Salisbury.
She is survived by her dovoted mother and father, Johnny and Martha Carpenter, who will miss her more than words can ever say, brothers, John Scott Carpenter and wife Sally, Jimmy C. Carpenter and wife Kelly and Shane David Carpenter. Also nephews, Nicholas, Corey, Dylan, Jonathan and great niece Emma survive her. Aunts and uncles, Dale and wife Judy Carpenter of Landis, Jeanie and husband Wade Beaver of China Grove, Charlie Campbell, Kenneth and wife Sherry Campbell of Kannapolis. Carl and wife Kim Campbell of Lincolnton, and aunts Kathy Cable of Salisbury and Faye and husband Jerry Bowers of Faith.
Vistiation will be on Friday at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis from 6:00 til 8:00 with funeral on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Enochs Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Mark Beam, minister. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
