Samuel William Donald, 78, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bob Miller of South Georgia Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Mr. Donald was born March 21, 1934, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Robert and Eleanor Donald. He joind the Air Force in 1954, serving in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1978.
Mr. Donald married Mary Brown on Oct. 10, 1954, in Mclean. They moved to Amarillo in 1978, and he went to work for Trade Winds Aviation, where he worked for more than 20 years until his retirement.
He was a very devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Donald was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Donald, in 2003; his parents; and a sister, Roberta Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Donald of Amarillo; a son, Samuel William Donald Jr. of Irving; three daughters, Deborah Hitz of Wichita, Kan., Kathleen Escobedo of Irving and Sandra Keeble of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Thomas Donald of Saint Clairsville, Ohio; a sister, Jennie Belle Trout of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
