Sara Rebecca Martin Black, 88, of Savannah, died June 22, 2014 at Hospice Savannah, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Savannah, Ga., Nov. 14, 1925, and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lloyd Black in Jan 2010, , and an infant daughter in 1953, her parents, John Littleton Martin and Rebecca Cordson Martin.

She was a 1945 Graduate of Savannah High School., and she married Walter Lloyd Black in Oct 21, 1947, at Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Chapter; Served as a Leader for both the Brownie and Girl Scout Troop # 183, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She worked at the Savannah Women's Clinic from 1974 – 1992, and was a member of Marshlands Garden Club, and enjoyed playing in various Bridge Clubs.

She enjoyed traveling with her Husband to Germany and Italy.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca Heflin (Jim) of Tybee Island, Ga; and Nancy Grevemberg (Donald) of Savannah, Ga; grandsons, James Lloyd McCrindle (Germany), Dario Mariane (Savannah), Clifford Grevemberg(Savannah), granddaughters, Nicole Schaaf (Walt), Laura Lewis (Mickey), and Stephanie McCrindle (Orlando, Fla); great grandsons, Nicholas Schaaf, and Reid Schaaf; great granddaughter, Sophie Lewis.

Special thanks to Diane Gentry and Lashund Barr, who were very helpful in taking care of our mother.

Visitation: 11 – 12 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Funeral Services: 12:00 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Peter Hartmann, officiating.

Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Remembrances: Hospice Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, Ga 31406; or St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 West 31st Street, Savannah, Ga 31401.

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL OF YOU. I WORKED WITH SARA AT SAV WOMEN'S CLINIC FOR 10 YEARS, UP STAIRS IN THE INS DEPT. SHE WAS A VERY SWEET LADY AND I KNOW SHE WILL BE MISSED.
