Sarah Ruth Cochran

Sarah Ruth Cochran, 70, of Visalia, California, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in
Sarah was born February 1st, 1943 in Kingsburg, California to Charles and Jessie Sawyers.
Sarah was raised on the family farm and graduated from Kingsburg High School. She grew up
with two brothers, Ronald "Corky" and Charles. In 1964, Sarah received her Bachelor of
Science degree from Fresno State College. She then started her career as a medical laboratory
professional, working the first few years at Kaweah Delta District Hospital before joining Visalia
Medical Clinic in 1969. She very much enjoyed working there and was still not ready to retire,
even after 43 years.
Sarah married Thomas Franklin Cochran in 1966. They had one son together, Charles. They
traveled regularly as a family along with her step-children all over California and the west.
Sarah and Tom continued to enjoy traveling through the years, going often to stay in Morro Bay.
Sarah was an accomplished water color artist and she also enjoyed doing wood crafts, crochet,
puzzles and computer games. She was never without a book to read.
Sarah leaves her son, Charles F. Cochran and his wife, Cheryl, of Visalia; step-daughter Sharon
M. Andreasen-Rowley and her husband, Scott, of Fresno; step-son Zebulon T. Cochran and his
wife, Elizabeth, of Henderson, NV; and step-son Robert G. Cochran of Spokane, WA. Sarah
leaves also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Sawyers in 1973; her brother Charles T.
Sawyers in 2012; and her beloved husband of 46 years, Thomas, in October, 2012.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Gateway
Church of Visalia, 1100 S. Sowell St., Visalia, CA 93277.'
