Shirley Dean Odom Agate – loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a 78 year-old native of Barnett's Crossroads, AL and a resident of Mobile passed away Friday, July 1, 2011. She was a longtime active member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Agate was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ralph Holden Agate; son, Ronald J. Wells; and siblings: Earnest Odom, Ella Mae Odom Seay, Cecil Odom, Burton Odom, and Johnny Odom. She is survived by three children: Allen D. Wells (Sandy), Gordon L. Wells (Christine), and Shirley Agate Moore (Chess); eight siblings: Sally Odom Roche, Jeannie Odom Wescott, Autrey Odom (Brenda), Pete Odom, Ronnie Odom (Laverne), Delores Odom Rawls, Billy Odom (Martha), and Charlotte Odom; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Christ United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour.
