Steve Brister, 62, of DeRidder, Louisiana entered eternal peace on Saturday, July 26th, 2014 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mr. Brister served in the United States Army and received a medal for sharp shooter M16 rifle and a national defense service medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Audrey Whitaker Brister; one brother, Bud Brister and one sister, Patsy McCleod. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his fiancée, Betty Foraker Henson of DeRidder, LA; four sons, Steve Brister Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Corey Brister of DeRidder, LA, Chad Brister of DeRidder, LA, and Brad Brister and wife Dawn of Saucier, MS; two daughters, Missy Davis and husband Mark of Abilene, TX and Stephanie Calcote and husband Shon of DeRidder, LA; one step-daughter, Christy Krawczyk of Gaffney, SC; four brothers, Scotty Brister of Merryville, LA, James Brister of Leesville, LA, Stanley Brister of DeRidder, LA, and Stoney Brister of DeRidder, LA; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous extended friends and family.
Visitation will begin on Monday, July 28th, 2014 from 10:00am until 9:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Hixson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery.
