Taylor Byron Roy, 20, of Kingwood, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Taylor was a graduate of Kingwood High School and a current student at Texas A&M University at Galveston, where he was a Junior majoring in Maritime Administration. He was employed with Galveston Aviation Services. Taylor was a member of Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood. One of Taylor's proudest accomplishments was restoring a 1966 Chevy pick-up with his father, extended family and friends.
Taylor was preceded in death by his grandfather, Byron Patterson. He is survived by his parents, Brian and Lori Roy and Gary and Lynn Downey; siblings, Meagan Roy Miller (Patrick), Madison Hemann, Jordan Hemann, Joel Downey, Brian Downey; grandparents, Tommie Sue Patterson, Sharon Roy, Roy and Violet Gove; aunts and uncles, Glenn Patterson, Stacy Patterson (Staci), Tanya Kelly (Mark) and Kenneth Roy; numerous cousins, other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Kingwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Strawbridge United Methodist Church, 5629 Kingwood Dr., Kingwood, TX 77345. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
