Theodore “Ted” Wadleigh, Jr., a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada since 1992, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, June 24, 2013. He was born March 9, 1923 in Herscher, Illinois to Theodore and Helen Ream Wadleigh. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Barr Stiteler, on June 8, 1946 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
He graduated in the Class of 1943 from Blackburn College; attended Harvard, Florida State and University of Illinois, Champaign. He served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Sanitation Corps. He was employed by the State of Illinois Water Treatment Division in Aurora, Illinois and retired from the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America in 1985.
Ted was a member of various organizations: the Boy Scouts of America, Rotary Club, Petroleum Engineering Association, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
In 1992, Ted and his wife Dorothy relocated to Las Vegas and were married for 67 years.
Ted is survived by his wife Dorothy Wadleigh; three sons Theodore “Rick” Wadleigh, Robert “Jim” Wadleigh, and John Wadleigh; three daughters-in-law; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be on Monday July 1, 2013 at 10:00 am at Palm Mortuary located at 7600 South Eastern Avenue. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Cemetery.
