Teddy Frank Shumate, 74, of Pineville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 following a long illness.
Born April 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Harper Shumate, Sr. and Grace Laxton Shumate
Mr. Shumate was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Shumate; son, Teddy Terry Shumate; a daughter, Connie Sue Shumate; a great-grandson, Christian Livingston;
Survivors include a son, Keith Shumate and his wife, Peggy of Keyrock
Daughters, Karen May and her fiancé Bill Counts of Pineville
Joann Lambert and her fiancé, Bronson Davidson of Montcalm
2 brothers, Harper “Jiggs” Shumate, Jr. of Pineville
Ray Shumate of Oceana
2 sisters, Judy Johnson of Rockview
Barbara Shumate of Pineville
8 grandchildren: Monica, Timothy, Bridgette, Christina, Crystal, Alex, Natasha and Hunter
7 great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Russell McCoy officiating
Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers
