Baumgartner, Thelma E (nee Kohl), 99, loving mother, devoted wife and friend died peacefully 19 October 2011. Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, J. Robert "Skipper" Baumgartner. Survived by daughters Carolyn (Edward Maruggi) of Hilton, NY and Roberta (Michael Axelrod) of Columbus, NC, step children Donald (Donna) of Milwaukee, WI and Jean (Frank McGrath) of La Jolla, CA, plus 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Thelma was born June 3, 1912 and grew up with 5 sisters and 1 brother on a farm in Marshfield, WI. She married in Milwaukee, WI in 1947. The family moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1960 where Thelma was active in the community for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, oil painting and traveling with the Skipper aboard the yacht Trenora. From 1969 to 1978 Thelma and Skipper lived in Belize, Central America. In later years, they spent the summers in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Visitation will be Monday, October 24th from 1 to 2pm at Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church, 1901 E. Commercial Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308 with a Funeral Service at 2pm. Entombment at Lauderdale Memorial Park, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
