Thelma Mae Biggers was born to John I. and Eva Morris on January 31, 1919 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She married Alton G. Biggers on September 28, 1935. They had 59 years together. Thelma passed away on February 2, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Biggers on February 3, 1995 and her two children, Gail Biggers Kerr and Lewis Alton Biggers. One Grandson Rick Kerr, three brothers, Jim Morris, Charles Morris, John A. Morris and her sister Roselee Pittman also preceded her in death. She is survived by six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Thelma was a Christian, a beautician and a homemaker. Thelma was a proud member of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church. She was the church pianist for over 40 years, a Sunday School teacher, WMU director and a Spadey Lady. She held numerous other jobs in the church and even admits to having cleaned the toilets in the church a time or two. There was no job to big or to little for her. She said it was a "privilege to serve the Lord"and that "you could never out-give God." Thelma loved her family, her church family and the Lord and tried to live so others could see Jesus in her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors from 6-to 8 pm. Funeral services will be at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 4pm wiith Jimmy Skiles and Mike Bartlett officiating. Thelma will be laid to rest at 2 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Hereford, Texas
