Mrs Blackmore was born in Jamesville on March 16, 1913 daughter of the late John Daniel Lilley Sr and Lucy Corey Lilley. She moved to Williamston in 1925 and graduated from Williamston High School in 1931. A few years after graduating she went to work for Guaranty Bank & Trust in Williamston for D V Clayton Cashier. About 1942 she was transferred to the home office in Greenville NC. .Mr Billy Woolard was president of 13 branches of Guaranty Bank & Trust. Thelma worked as teller, and also worked as the branch examiner in their 13 offices. She was devoted to this bank as long as it existed. She came back to Williamston after her short stay in Greensboro and was called to Washington Guaranty Bank to work as teller for one summer and stayed in Washington over 25 years. After Wachovia/ Guaranty take over she was offered a job with Home Savings & Loan and retired after 16 years with them. She returned to Williamston after she retired and has enjoyed her retirement here in Williamston .She was a member of the First Christian Church and an avid bridge player and enjoyed very much their getting together as a club.
She is survived by a sister Evelyn L Olschner of Morehead City and a brother J. D. Lilley Jr of Littleton and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately after the graveside service at the cemetery and other times at the residence. The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff and hospice at Martin General Hospital for their love, support and comfort for the past weeks.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church 101 E Liberty St Williamston NC 27892 or the Williamston Fire & Rescue 901 Washington St Williamston NC 27892

Blount Modlin
Ms. Thelma was always so special to my family & me. She worked with my dad at Guaranty Bank in Washington, and with my grandfather, Billy Woolard at Guaranty Bank in Greenville. My condolences to the family.
